The story

One night, three journeys. Three estranged brothers carry their mother's body to the Ganga in a talkative cabbie's battered taxi; a lovesick student's beating sets two college communities in Delhi at war; and three musicians from Lahore, stranded in the wrong Ballia, must pass as Indians in a village of soldiers.

Three stories, one night, told in the interlocking style of Alejandro González Iñárritu.

Bullet Bhaiya points a pistol in the rain

01 · Conflict in society

The college

One night in Delhi, fuelled by alcohol and wounded pride, a student's beating turns two college communities against each other, and brings in the most unhinged local strongman of them all, Bullet Bhaiya.

Firoz drives the three brothers through the night

02 · Conflict at home

The brothers

Three estranged brothers reunite to carry out their mother's last wish: a cremation at her village ghat on the Ganga. The only driver who'll take them in wedding season is Firoz, who ties her body to the roof of his Ambassador and talks all the way.

03 · Conflict between nations

The border

Invited to a peace concert in Balia, Bihar, three musicians from Lahore end up in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. Stranded for the night in a village that has sent a son from every other house to the army, they pass themselves off as folk artists from Rajasthan.

When the fence between nations is trespassed.

When the thread between life and death wears thin.

When the line between love and war blurs.

Fates collide, and the things that rip us apart bind us together.
